Anna Keefer graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, with a BFA in studio art. Her concentrations consist of Printmaking and Painting with a minor degree at the Farmer School of Business in Marketing. Gallery exhibitions include painting and prints in the “San Gallo Exhibition” at the Florence University of the Arts where she studied abroad for four months in the spring of 2011. Anna has also participated in “The Erasables,” B.F.A. Capstone Exhibition at Hiestand Galleries at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. In the winter of 2013, Keefer was also nominated by her professors and accepted into the “Emerging Artists” exhibition in the Summerfair organization at the Clayton Cultural Arts Center in Cincinnati. At the Emerging Artists exhibition, Keefer won a spot with two participants in a gallery exhibition at the Malton Art Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio for the spring of 2014. Keefer worked as an apprentice under Chicago artist, Tony Fitzpatrick in painting & print production. She has also worked in the gallery environment at Adventureland Gallery as well as an intern at Chicago Gallery News Magazine. At Chicago Gallery News, Keefer gained experience in the magazine industry where she managed data for mailings and developed layouts & artwork in various computer design programs. Anna Keefer’s work focuses on copper plate etchings with an interest in aquatint, chine collé and other historical printmaking processes. Her work engages in organic and natural substances combined with a consistent use of organic patterning and collage inspired through travel. Anna’s work maintains a cohesive focus on line quality and mark making in harmony within both painting and printmaking.
